Miserable Wretch

I search for serenity hopelessly
Deprived of happiness and peace
This brain consumed by misery
Often seems to be my worst enemy
These toxic thoughts drive me insane
Each one contrived by a sickly brain
The result is overwhelming pain
Attempts at self help end in vain
Each struggle ends in crushing defeat
My unstable emotions get the best of me
My mind is plauged by this disease
Which results from these broken dreams
My health declines a bit more each day
An infirmity is coming to seal my fate
I turn to god with one last request
I long to laugh once more before death
