A Friend In the Heart

Have you ever asked yourself, "Why?"
Have you ever just sat down and cried?
Have you ever felt totally alone,
Like you're in a corner, where no light is shone?
Too many times I have felt this way.
I never thought I'd live to see the day.
All I wanted was a friend who cares;
Not some bimbo running around in their underwear.
I wanted a friend who could say the right thing...
Who would comfort me after a losing game.
I never thought I would find this friend;
I thought that my happiness would totally end.
Too many people just walk up and leave,
But I never had this thought conceive...
That maybe this person won't leave me...
I love you Anna, you've made me so happy.
You've found a way to comfort my fears
And have found the cure to dry my tears.
You told me I need you, which is totally true.
When there's no one to hug me, I just come to you.
You understand all my dreams & my fears;
If I didn't know better, I'd say you've known me for years.
Too many times I've been pushed to the ground,
But you've always lifted me up without making a sound.
I won't permit our special friendship to come apart;
We speak to each other 'cause we're friends in our hearts.
