First Love

There was an
cold October rain.
Filling the fall air!
The sky was dark
and gloomy!

It was an ending
to a summer
of timeless love!
Tears stream down
the young girls face.

That wasn't all that
was ending.
She was letting go
of her very first love.

Through the years
her mind drifted
to that first love.
Wondering what that
love could have been.

30 years has past
she pleads a prayer
to Heaven above.
Let me find real true
love, before I leave
this cruel world.

That first love
she gave up
years ago has
re-entered her life.

Was that prayer
answered.
Only time
will tell.
