Love From a Distance

He has the world in the palm of
his hand, his innocense in attracting
the corrupt and soul-less while a lonely girl
is crying, she cries out to
silence and laughter, wishing
that for once he'd understand
but I know he never will

Time will pass and we'll grow old
reflecting on what we let go
my heart begins to wither today
as I slowly start to walk away

He's dancing with deamons in disguise
his beliefs will forever keep him
buried in lies and fear while
a broken girl is pleading, she's
pleading for happiness and affection
wishing that for once he would
finally see, but I know he never will

This story has been told numerous
times before, but this one particular
scenario has left me speechless and scared
you're so toxic to me, you've given
me a taste of perfection, a scense of satisfaction
Is it wrong to fall in love with a stranger
and to deny yourself the inevitable danger
