Flickering Tails and Eyes
Stand by the fridge, you are his best friend
Your legs are like nectar, drawing his kisses
He loves you, then leaves you with a wounded heart to mend
Until hunger strikes again, he realises it's you he misses
He looks at you with daring eyes
Bright, shimmering, glowing with sin.
Inside a shopping bag, he lies
Taunting invisible fiends from within
You can always tell where he's laid
Usually where he knows is forbidden
Clean sheets, best clothes before he's even bathed
In the darkest, warmest corner, he thinks that he is hidden
When your day at work has been so bad
And your headache feels unbearable
Come home with a sigh and spy your impatient lad
He permits you to pamper him, the feeling's incomparable
Before he once more becomes indifferent,
Enjoy it while he allows you to,
For he believes he is self sufficient,
And we start again, this heavenly catch 22
