That Perfect Day

That Perfect Day
By Charles Shaw
Such awesome beauty before my eyes
The trees, the grass and butterflies
How pure the sun brightly shines
Reflecting silver threads upon the pines
I hear the song of natures tears
A gusty breeze that disappears
Then so still, not a sound
Just as might a saddened clown
This ceaseless splendor, jewels of time
These treasured moments, yet few are mine
As I stand and ponder natures innovation
In my heart I know it is divine creation
Cry out old soul confess your shame
God’s lamb has come to bare your blame
Open your heart, flush out that pain
Accept the love of God’s domain
Spring of 1967 – The morning after an overnighter with my seven year old son
at Toll Road Campground North of Arrowhead Lake, California
