Way Maker

Way Maker

When the dishes clash in the sink,
And you wait for the water to run.
You know love has arrived
And you must become enough.

Dreams set in dark rebound
He won’t always be around
For you are not the princess
In this fairytale address

And not enough sings in the bath
You aren’t thin or too tough
Lingers in the trash
And you say awful stuff

Yet the string of holiday lights
The perfect meal made with might
Is enough to be his way maker
And not enough is fear creator

The curve of your hip
And the way you coffee sip
Amongst diffuse hard lip
Is enough and don’t you forget
