Silent Warnings

SILENT WARNINGS:

Sometimes the heart feels a storm

When what is right and what is wrong stop making sense.

Just then. A soft voice comes from inside

So quiet so calm, like a breeze on your skin.

"Stop " it says. Not loud not mean,

No anger, no fire no pressure to be seen.

Just a gentle pull like a mothers sigh,

A voice that disappears before you ask why.

But most people don't hear. Or say they don't

They let the moment pass and say "I won't."

Still their hands reach where they shouldn't go

And in that act they lose a part of their soul they'll never know.

Some pause some listen some choose the light

They walk away from the edge that night.

They turn around before they fall

In that choice they rise. Even a little.

What about the person with hunger in their chest?

The child at home the dreams that are stressed?

When stealing becomes a call for bread

Pain moves in where hope once tread...

That quiet voice tries. But breaks in sorrow

It can't fight strong beliefs tomorrow.

Not greed, not sin, but a silent request,

To steal. Not, for want. For familys test.

So don't judge quickly when someone falls

For life writes pain on many walls.

Sometimes even the kindest men

Ignore the voice... Just to live again.
