Crazy Woman

Crazy Woman Vilanelle

Do not tell her that romance is a lie;

silver prince will come to save her from gloom-

over her gray hair, white doves swiftly fly

A true believer, she never asked why

million roses died before they bloomed;

do not tell her that romance is a lie

she pretends she hasn't seen herself cry;

recollecting her lost love, unresumed-

over her gray hair, white doves swiftly fly

Helium hope's flashing from the sky;

stars reveal one's fate- or so she assumed-

do not tell her that romance is a lie

Cynics despise such dreams she lives by;

time after time, tin loves end in tombs-

over her gray hair, white doves swiftly fly

Despite bitter facts she'd still love to try;

waiting nervously in her frosty room-

do not tell her that romance is a lie;

over her gray hair, white doves swiftly fly.
