Still Standing

We gather here today to celebrate the life of Demetrius Silmon. Even though he had so much like to live, we thank God for the 19 years he was on this earth. Let's have a moment of silence. Hello, I am the guy in the casket. I was confined to an Education system that told me my words meant nothing. I constantly felt like I was not good enough to speak. Stumbling words and bad grammar. Silence me like a mute to a TV. What is the point of me even speaking? When Nobody wants to listen? Suicide was my mission. I felt like if I end my life, then there will be a group of angels that will cherish me. At least I’ll be heard by some body. Rejected over 100 times by family members, my peers, and society. There is nowhere to escape this calamity until one day. My dorm
room was so sweet. I felt like I was in a room suffocating with a pillow over my head 1.2.3. I thought I was dead, but Jesus resurrected me to life. Jesus opened up the doors to heaven's paradise. He said, if the world leaves you to die, I will never leave you, nor for sake you. I heard the angel singing.. A spectacular and exuberant experience I could not hide. I heard Jesus clearly. On that day. December 6, 2009. The Reborn of a new man has just arisen. 15 years later in I'm still alive.
We gather here today to celebrate a life that has not been overtaken by Satan
