Promises you made

You read one line and said you know,
the hidden things I never show,
the softer parts I never grow,
my hope inside a jar.
You swore you'd be my one true love,
someone to put high above,
not a weight to get rid of,
and yet here we are.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
