What am I?

Theres paint on the walls that I couldn't scratch off
Theres wine in my glass- I had filled to the top
The blood likes to speak- stubborn trying tough
Life is infuriating, and I've had enough…
Angry red marks 'They're so beautiful let them show?'
Oh, so very beautiful under the hospital glow
I was but once 10, when I thought I'd had it all
But 4th grade math was the lest of it all
I was but once 5, I couldn't recall-
Smashing and bashing, destructive downfall
I was but once young, I was once small
I was but once older, yet I was once tall
I was but once, oh so many, many things
Yet my stomach still rumbles, my ears still ring
The marks stain skin, even after all this time
The pill's still bitter, a salted lime
Voices command the blade- so shiny and bright
And they tell me I won't- miss the vein this time....

I've really been enjoying your poem and the emotions and imagery were so vivid that i could easily picture them as beautiful illustration. I'm a commission-based manga/webtoon artist, and I’d love to discuss the possibility of bringing this poem to life if you're ever interested. I almost passed this verse by when some of the words caught my eye, so I read it and can empathize. Writing helps my vision, it helps me cope, it reminds me of humility that I should never forget. Thank you for sharing. - Chris
