Breathe, I tell her
Breathe, I tell her,
When she cries to come out.
Breathe, I tell her,
When she trembles with doubt.
Breathe, I tell her,
When her heart starts to break.
Breathe, I tell her,
Instead of, That was your mistake.
She hides in the silence,
Afraid to be seen,
Wearing her sorrow
Like it’s routine.
Her voice is a whisper,
Too soft to defend—
She carries beginnings
That feel like the end.
Breathe, I remind her,
When the world gets too loud.
Breathe, when she’s drowning
In yesterday’s cloud.
Breathe, not for them—
But for her own flame,
To stay alive
When she’s tired of the game.
I won’t scold the tears
Running down her cheek.
I won’t demand answers
She’s too drained to speak.
I’ll hold her in silence,
No pressure, no show—
Just soft little echoes
Of Breathe, take it slow.
She doesn’t need fixing,
She needs to be free.
To feel every wave
As deep as the sea.
She’s not broken—
Just heavy with fight.
And I’ll tell her to breathe
Till she steps back into light.
