The Silence Between Us

Will things ever go back to the way they were?
I took for granted those smiles, those laughs
and now I don’t see them anymore.
How do I undo what’s already done?

Did I let go of your hand somewhere along the way,
or were you gone before I even knew?
Your voice sounds different now
does it mean you’ve fallen out of love?

You used to give me sweet reminders,
now it’s warnings in their place.
Maybe I pushed you too far,
so far you can’t see me anymore.

And why does it hurt this much
that we can sit through the whole ride home
without saying a word?
