Switch of Tables
You taught me how to lock the door and turn off the lights.
You taught me how to use a gun just in case someone broke in to fight.
You told me to protect my brothers,
My mom,
My family.
But what you didn’t teach me was,
who would be on the other end of the gun.
I wouldn’t have guessed that the intruder would be someone familiar.
I couldn’t have guess what would happen if I called the cops on one of my own.
You didn’t tell me that when I finally did protect my family.
All the time you’ve taught me to fight the bad guy who would hurt me.
You didn’t tell me that the one on the other side of the gun would be
You.
