Raspberry Jam

Something red,

Something sweet,

Something i'd wanna eat

Something that would help when im feeling down

I'd spread it on toast,

then take a bite

and when im done,

I'll spit it up

I did this because I do not like it

However,

I can dream I do.

Convince its true

No matter how much I dream

But reality its just cruel

I do not like what I fantasize

My tongue rejects

But my eyes say otherwise.

This poem powerfully captures the frustration of unfulfilled desires and the struggle between idealized hopes and harsh reality. It beautifully illustrates the pain of wanting to love something your true self rejects. Lessons we all need to learn.

Enjoyed the title and feeling of your poem. Great flow, life's not as sweet as it sounds, however we can make it interesting. Very cute. Always ~poet destroyer~
