Cosmic Pull

this vast and silent space
this tiny dot we call our home
we who breathe and dream here
are but specks of dust among too many others.

some stars born anew
some wander forever
some quietly fade away

still we look up
make wishes on dying stars
as if the void might answer a whisper

such tiny beings like us
found each other
amid a thousand floating worlds
how great a miracle is that?

in the infinite dark
mere cosmic dust drawn close
by nothing but gravity
and maybe
love
