what once was

you’re gone now
and i feel relieved 
i feel like my own person again
but yet i grieve you
it’s like you’ve died but
i know you haven’t
things are just different

When a couple go apart for whatever reason, they experience grief just like when a person dies only that person lives on and sometimes that grief is harder than actually losing them in death. Good work you have penned. Sara K
