Fate

I open the window
The sun shines on my eyes
And I think
What will I be remembered for
And then I look down
Seeing a poor man lying on the ground
People will forget me won't they
Just move on without noticing
Because there are billions of people in this world
Just like grains of sand
You'll step over it because of its insignificance
And you won't ever look back
Just walk past
Hoping that you won’t end up like that
But deep down, knowing that fate is indifferent

You can find a similar lament in the Bible at Ecclesiastes 1:11. Nice poetic observation Diya. Hey, welcome to PS!
