In this digital world of perpetual pleasure,
Why must we purposely give each other pain,
Instead of easing our pressures,
We cause each other so much more strain,
Grabbing and tearing at the tattered fray,
Some bring upon darkness on the brightest days,
It's in our nature's or so that lies been told,
We waste away our youth as we give away our souls,
We search for a meaning in this thing we call life,
Where for a little kindness we'll gladly feel the knife,
Just a little cut, for no pain no gain,
Not realizing slowly we slip further from what's sane,
For on this endless wheel we all do blindy run,
We live for the chase in this race we all hope we've won,
Time waits for no one, so we continue the struggle,
Hoping for a future of love and happiness, no matter how subtle.
