Haunted

I walked into the same room
and became someone I thought I left
The chaos that destroyed my peace
Is now the radio silence I’ve dreamed of
The walls that heard me cry at night
Hear nothing but laughing sounds now
The hurt that I felt deeply in my body
Is just a bad memory that triggers me
The loneliness covered by the noise
Became louder than the huge thunder
The comfort that promised to always be there
Is nowhere to be seen in sight
Things are better now… so why
Why do I still feel like I’m back there?

Malak, you captured that mix of healing and haunting feeling, like peace is there but the mind’s got a replay button on the past. Really hit home for us.
