53-Word Poem

I desire the great things of the world. But pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth cloud my vision of the future and distract me from what matters most. The seven deadly sins are based upon being self-serving. But is it a sin if they serve your peers and children of God?

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Deep musings here, Beth, welcome to PS. In my view, Sin=anything out of sync with love, it arises from ignorance, once ignorance is removed, we see the interconnectedness of all beings, all life. Sin as such, is a hyped up concept, exaggerated by heads of religious institutions to invoke fear, as a control mechanism but it is easily erased when mind is illumined and heart purified.
