The story of a woman

A woman.

Most people see her as something to control,
A toy, a servant, a role to play.
If she is blonde, she is called "dumb."
If she is Black, she is called "slave."
If she speaks up, she is "too loud."
If she is silent, she is "too weak."

Her opinions are dismissed,
Her clothes are judged,
Too short, too long, too revealing, too modest.
Nothing is ever right.

She is told to be careful,
To watch her back,
To never walk alone at night,
To be always aware.

They say, "Protect your daughters,"
But never, "Teach your sons."

Still have to fight for their freedom, right, one live.

But you may ask "How can you be so sure that's true?"

"Because I am a woman too."
And sadly, we still see it everywhere—
Women still fighting to be treated right.
