To a Good Friend
O Giver of Sublime Relief
In the wee hours of the morning
You satisfy beyond belief
My every call – long, medium, brief –
However short the warning.
You comfort me throughout the night –
Nothing can mar or spoil it –
You keep me free of fear and fright
Until the new day’s welcome light
Means I can use the toilet.
