Starlit Surrender

Starlit Surrender

I stood before the mirror, shadows on my face,
The world a stage, where I lost my place.
In borrowed light, I wore a smile so thin,
But behind the mask, I hid the storms within.

The love we had was scripted, scene by scene,
A fairy tale that wasn't what it seemed.
With each embrace, I played my part too well,
But inside my heart, I heard the tolling bell.

Oscar-winning tears, I cried them every night,
In a world of silver screens, I gave up the fight.
The spotlight burned too bright, it showed my every flaw,
And in the end, I stood alone, beneath the audience’s awe.

You loved the role I played, not the soul inside,
I bent beneath the pressure, the truth I couldn't hide.
But now the curtain's closing, and I’m stepping out alone,
No longer bound by stories we had never truly known.

Oscar-winning tears, they fall like shattered dreams,
But I’m reclaiming who I am beneath these fragile seams.
The lights have dimmed, the stage is cold, but I’m still standing tall,
No longer playing for applause, just answering my own call.

In the silence after love, I found the truth that’s mine,
A broken heart can heal, with time and space to shine.
So let the world remember, the tears I leave behind,
For in the end, the role I played was only in my mind.
