Better in memory

I get excited every year
To be down by the river
And to enjoy the 3 meals a day
To see all my relatives
To play fun games all night
To sing songs around a campfire
But now it’s all seems so different
The river has lost its charm
The food doesn’t taste as good
Most of my relatives don’t come anymore
The games get cancelled by the rain
The campfire isn’t as warm

Hello Carson, I know that feeling well, that’s why I wrote my last poem about it. Things have certainly changed. Wishing you a great weekend and a Happy Christmas.
