The Moment I felt
Each step you take before my eyes
sets my restless heart adrift.
The world bows softly to your rhythm,
and I draw my breath from your presence.
You addressed my name — gentle, effortless,
a smile like dawn across your face.
The sound enfolded me,
a whisper I feared would fade.
Your hand found mine and the earth tilted,
a pulse skipped, tangled within my ribs.
Blood surged like sudden flame,
my gaze held captive by the curve of your lips.
I clutched my chest,
to cradle that wild, racing beat.
Each thud beneath my palm
asked softly if I could remain unchanged
