Why

Sometimes living feels like a chore
One I don't want to do
But there are reasons
For which I persist.
When my dog wags her tail when I say her name
To get to see my nephew grow old
Long walks in the woods with the people I love
Seeing people smile
New music
Old music
Conversations about nothing with people
I've never met
And will never see again
Late night chats with friends
Who I will hold for a lifetime
To love
To be loved.
All of these
I live for
Even when I'd rather not

Well said. It is unfortunate that many people are caught not seeing the things you see and stop living.
