Dear Anxiety

Dear Anxiety, I see you lurking,
In the corners of my mind, always working.
You creep in softly, a whispering fear,
Telling me stories I wish I couldn’t hear.

You’re the weight on my chest, the knot in my gut,
The shadow that follows, the door that’s shut.
You thrive on my doubts, feed on my shame,
But I’m learning to see you, not play your game.

You’ve been a companion, a thief in the night,
But I’m taking my stand, reclaiming my light.
With each breath I take, I’ll grow a bit bolder,
You may be a burden, but I’m growing older.

I’ll write down my worries, let them unfold,
Transforming your whispers into stories told.
With each word I pen, I’ll break down your walls,
You won’t define me; I’ll rise from your falls.

So thank you for lessons in courage and grace,
For showing me strength in the toughest of places.
Dear Anxiety, you’ve played your part well,
But I’m breaking free now; I’m ready to dwell.

In a world filled with hope, I’ll choose to believe,
That beyond your dark clouds, there’s light to receive.
So here’s my goodbye, with a heart set on fire,
I’m reclaiming my joy, lifting my spirit higher.
