My Sleeve

Before I was aware
I used you to pacify myself, back then I used my mouth to explore the world.
Later, you became a napkin.
Ok, I'll admit, a Kleenex oftentimes.
How I long for those days of simplicity!
Because now, and maybe for the rest of my days
You are just outerwear for my heart.

I think we can all relate to this poem from some point in our lives, especially in childhood. Sad but true!
