On the edge

On the edge of despair
That I am not able to repair

Broken in a middle pieces
As the urges to hurt myself increases

Walking on a ledge
Ready to fall off the edge

Balancing finely
With a life worth living is unlikely

Keep trying I say to myself
When your tired of yourself

Self hate runs deep beneath
When there is so much trauma underneath

It feels like suffocation
That it’s impossible for a liveable transformation

Suffering is silent
As more intrusive thoughts are violent

Just a thought they say
But they stay and never go away

On the sharp edge
It’s not easy to step off the ledge

Escape is how it feels
As the desperation mounts and reels
