The Wild and Wildlife
Different hues inhabit the wild,
a land lush with promise and prey.
It is home to many lives
each breathing ambition
each baring teeth behind a smile.
Monkeys leap from branch to branch,
laughing loud, throwing noise like fruit.
Tigers pace with borrowed stripes,
patterns copied, not earned.
Leopards move fast, too fast
impatience scratching the soil.
And the lion stands firm,
heavy with strength,
roaring authority into silence.
Life here is brutish.
There is no middle ground.
You rule or you are erased.
Every dawn brings the same question:
Who will claim the jungle today?
Not by wisdom,
not by mercy,
but by force, cunning,
and how well one can survive the night.
These creatures are consumed
by daily struggle,
fighting not hunger alone
but relevance, fear,
and the terror of being forgotten.
Survival here demands savagery.
Though the land is rich with green,
its soil is fed with sacrifice.
Though the trees bear fruit,
their roots drink blood.
This wild is not empty...
it is abundant.
Yet abundance does not breed peace.
It remains a jungle,
where one life must end
so another may stretch a little longer,
stand a little taller,
rule a little louder.
And so the cycle continues
under the sun,
beneath the leaves,
in the jungle we pretend is home.
