You Will Not Live Forever

You will not live forever
And you do not have a soul
There are no hells or heavens
No charged punishments to scroll

We do not keep on going
When our ashes riddle urns
There are no gods or saviors
No exchanges or returns

You will not live forever
And you cannot sway the Fates
There are no master captains
Out beyond the crooked gates

Since our time is finite it is best the savour the daily joys that spring like blooms through sidewalk cracks. Thank you for this posting. Best wishes. Brian

Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
