The Little Girl

The little girl all alone
her footprints stain the
sands of time
for which life
cannot atone-

Misery was her only friend
sadness the only thing
that fate would send-

All the pain she shouldn't feel
hope long lost
this agony real-

Why was she born
if to know only tears?
How could she sustain
each day all her fears?

But one day as her sorrow fell
as diamonds to rain
came a beautiful angel
to assuage all her pain-

Embraced now in radiant, golden light
no more darkness or endless night-

Bereft and lost she will be no more
in Gods garden to forever soar-

Emerald as her Irish eyes
her body broken
but her soul to never die-

The little girl now a star
in Heavens glory
midnights keeping
her ageless story-

It was a pleasure to read your poetry today Angel. May your days always be filled with good health, love beyond expectation, and an overload of inspiration. She is whole once again and in a wonderful place. Love, Carol
