Where shall I go?

Where shall I go?
Where to seek solace?
This commotion engulfs me, like a hurricane untamed.
They say 'tis time to choose,
But what shall I choose?
Myself or the mirage they made of me?

Shall I follow the footsteps I long carved before?
Or break free of all constraints and wish for the best?
What shall I choose?
MyseIf or the mirage they made of me?

Deep within, I quiver, for the much awaited metamorphosis "Oh she will not let us down", they say
But now I see it true, I was never a mere reflection of you

Loved how the poem captures that stormy feeling of choosing between your true self and others’ expectations, super real and raw. The “mirage they made of me” line really hit home!
