Vanity Reborn

VANITY REBORN

Vanity.

Long locks of luxury
Taken, as
Delilah
Stole strength
From Samson
Without asking,

He was unwilling.

He did not know
His strength lay not in
The beauty of his hair
But rather by the
Heavens in his soul,

Until he was tested and
Shocked by life’s
Bawdy insistence that
He lose it, that
Vanity need be replaced with
New growth,
New realities,
New beauty.
