Tears

When we spoke, we spoke softly.
On a cold October night.
I could barely feel my fingers,
but it was worth it to be in your light.
Your smile would shine for months to come,
your voice would ring for years.
When sad,
I think about it, and the farthest thing from my mind is tears.
