Mine

He was all hers; from the hairs on his head to the shoes on his feet
Taking over his world little by little, beat by beat.
Each look was for her, each smile too.
Even his gorgeous eyes of blue.

She took his laughter and his dimes,
His thoughts and time.
She stole his affection and his clothes
And his attention whether or not the wind blows.

She took everything he had to give, and then some,
All of his giving never made her happy, so she left, how dumb.
But that gave me a second chance, the one i never thought i'd get.
Now he was mine, just like he was when we first met.

I'd have his mornings and his nights,
His scares and his frights.
The phone calls at nine,
I just can't believe he is mine.

He'll give me his stories and his humor,
And i'll give him my laughter and my future
We'll share our wishes and thoughts,
Our dreams, hopes, and wants.

He's now mine,
Not so he can listen to me whine.
So i can express my feelings,
and just maybe start a new beginning
