The Girl with Two Dogs

Most days I see her walking two very large dogs,
And most days, she takes them out more than once.
First, she walks a very large chocolate colored dog,
Then after that, she walks a very large white dog,
But I am not sure the white dog always goes second.
She walks them in rain and cold, but never after dark,
And I remember when she would walk them together,
Until they both decided to chase after some animal,
So, they took off, pulling her along, and she held on,
Her whole body becoming a human bouncing pinball.
After that, I didn’t see her again for the longest time,
But then she came back on a perfect, warm, evening.
That’s when I first saw her walking one dog at a time.
And had the strange feeling that I somehow knew her,
But I didn’t know her, except for walking those big dogs.
It’s impossible to explain why we think things like that,
Maybe there’s a way to see kindness all around someone,
Floating, like an aura, always revealing the unspoken,
Like how a simple kind act, done for a life not your own,
Tells of a selflessness, that rises and rises above everything,
