Last Days of Summer

Feet in the sand, do you feel free?
Breathe in the sunlight
Sky blending in the sea
Skin glowing bright

Make memories, they say
Let them bring you back
You'll see they will play
Like tingles down your neck

Don't want to go home
Just hold me a little more
What are you wishing for?
You see how much we've grown?

All good things end sometimes
Tell me, God, why?
If only there was no goodbye
I wouldn't need to write these rhymes

Can we instead pretend
That time is crippled
Or buy a ton of it
For just a nickel?

Rock me again a little
My heart is melting in the sun
Love can be so simple
In a summer day of fun
