Viridescent

I’m a wielded weapon ready to fire, made strong by jealousy, envy and desire. Like a lick of moss consumes the base of a tree. Pick the wrong coloured plant and I can make you sick. I’m a hunter camouflaged in my own forest. Picked by the delicate hands of a botany florist. Like ivy climbs to reach the light, I’m the monster lurking in the depths of the night. I bring the colour of life at springs sudden blind. Turned to crunchy dust at the first gust of autumn wind. I’m rooted to the ground growing firm at the welcome of frost. I’m a colour plagued with jealousy, envy and sometimes lost.
