Liberation·anguish
Once upon a time
I was pressed in on all sides
Tired, worn out
I threw up my hands
And threw in the towel
My spirit was so sour
In the quiet I cried
And then almost died
Or so I thought
For I was distraught
And in a haze
Going about my days
Apathetic and miserable
In between worlds
Pondering, puzzling
Mysteries unknown
I was waiting
No, more than that
Searching, nearly blind
Searching, never to find
The answer on my own
I was nothing, so alone
So I cried out
To you, O LORD
I cried in my anguish
But didn’t expect
To find you there
As an end to my despair
All bondage, gone
All systems are a go
I was suddenly free
Not sure what came on me
You came to rescue
To fix me, so askew
I was way off searching
In all the wrong places
But you came
Realigned my aim
Reset my eyes to you
Straightened my view
Now I’m free
I can finally see
My God, you liberate
You set free
You save
You rescue
You release all bonds
That tie me down
