Demons

You call me weak,
You call me crazy.
I can't get out of bed,
You call me lazy.
The thoughts in my head,
Well they're threatening to destroy me.
They tell me I’m not worth it,
They’ll never leave me be.
“I saw a smile on your face!
You were happy the other day”
But what you couldn't hear were the voices screaming turn and run away.
Depression is s monster!
All it does is hold you down!
Trying to reach the surface,
But you feel like you might drown.
No one understands me,
I feel like I'm alone.
But everyone has demons
They have to deal with on their own.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts on depression through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Depression is a demon! Your poem reveals the inner turmoil depression puts you through. I understand cause I've been there, too. Blessings, Kim M
