Demons of Darkness

She stood on the bridge in silence and fear
For the demons have driven her here
They carve her heart right out of her chest
Making her believe that the demons knew best
They were always there sometimes just out of sight waiting in the background till the time was right
These demons were destructive knocking down the life she knew Hating everything about her she hated herself too
These demons can't be seen
But they're far from fairytales
They are inside your mind
There evilness prevails
So on the bridge she stood about to end the fight
Here she stopped and thought one more night
She continued living as the demons were in the darkness
She had finally found calmness
She kept going with hope and faith
She was no longer a broken flame

Demons are a popular theme in poetry. Some make use of them metaphorically, but in Jesus day they were quite real and possessing people left and right, making them do awful things, as your poem suggests. I stay away from anything occult. Far away
