John Patrick Robbins

Sad soul broken and lost.
Used so easily abused forgotten.
And tossed.

I recall the man so very few will ever know.
The man behind the words.
A tree amoungst a forrest that still found the
courage to grow.

We both found comfort in that far off place.
They tried to to destroy you.
Pain so easily hidden behind such a gentle face.

We did part in such a bitter way.
Sometimes even the most well intended
love will betray.

I watched you break knowing I was the cause.
Like some doomed love story.
Without a rewind or pause.

You are that one man that does not exist.
A perfect heart.
And though I try to erase your memory
does presist.

I question how could I hurt somone as gentle as you.
But time only increases the mystery.
Of wounds that were old that still bleed new.

I wish only to reach out and tell you why.
But my words become trapped.
As so I fail everytime I try.

And in the park amoungst the memories and singing
birds.
Often I recall that gentle soul.
For i did know the man behind the words

John is a wonderful person, Eunice, and I have been hoping he will move forward and leave the pain behind. "The man behind the words" would truly be a blessing to any woman who is lucky enough to win his warm, witty, compassionate heart. God bless, Carolyn
