Memories

A memory is a fragile, sacred being
Chained to whatever it pleases -
Music, smells, the coming of spring.

Fleeting as the tender skin of a child
It comes with crashing of cymbals
Yet always manages to escape over the stile…

Leaving you with the empty shell

of a smile.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your memories' thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
