When My Heart Broke

When my heart broke, From me the light was stolen,
With the love that filled my heart, I walked eyes closed,
Because I believed in love, as they say love is blind
So was I
So was I walking, walking blind for I believed in what I felt,

The feeling of my breaking heart opened my eyes,
Into new world I found myself, the world of fear and dishonesty
For the love that fought my fears had now betrayed me
I've never known beauty, I knew how it felt

From the paradise I dwelled, walking without fear of stumbling,
I now could not believe my wide open eyes, for now love taught me fear,
When my heart broke, I lost hope faith that it ever existed,
For then I knew that my heart betrayed me, should I have known

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Have a blessed day.
