What Not To Do
most people,
they don't get out of bed
in the morning
until they've heard the news.
or the weather.
all we need in the morning
is bad news and coffee,
tips on traffic routes,
tips on wardrobe.
no one wants to hear about
success anymore.
tragedy always seemed
so much more interesting.
no one reads milton,
but everyone reads shakespeare.
lifestyles of the rich & famous is gone,
but cops is still around.
no one likes to be told what to do,
but everyone needs examples of what
not to do.
i guess even poets still have a place
in society.
