The Aftermath of How We Collided

Words shatter like broken glass,
Heaps of fallen glory stained by the past.
Strewn about are the ashes of our disdain,
in the middle of it all Love lies almost lifeless,
the aftermath of our chaos is all that remains.
Will my heart ever truly feel once more?
A mystery that seemingly evades me
like the sun on a rainy day.
Why has Love gone away from me?
Am I unable to release it from its prison door?
Last I remember, my heart was left to die in a shallow grave,
Since then, I have not been able to resurrect it;
I have clung to sorrow, my soul lying awake,
awaiting Love`s return once more.
