A Fair Hand That I Needed

I did it, did it,
Did it again
Thought that was the last pain,
But this added to the bit

           Not realised initially,
           The wrong that I did
But on finding what was hid,
           It ate me inside brutally

Drop by drop the tears of my sorrow
Rolled down my cheek
It was cold and bleak
leaving me with no shoulder to borrow

           I drowned deeper and deeper
In the sorrowful sea with a heavy bit
Seeking for a hand to lift,
           Waiting for a merciful forgiver

Suddenly a Fair Hand pulled me up,
Threw the heavy bit off me
Telling me to forget the old me,
The wrong deed and swim up

I was going higher and higher
             Hoping for the light
             Where dead end was bright,
As bright as the fair, warm fire.
